When we are planing any party, one of the first things to consider is party supplies. Other important considerations are who will be invited, what is the party themes and where will the party be held. All of the aforementioned conditions will have a determining influence on the selection of the party supplies. An other important consideration is the size of the party. If we are talking about guests in the hundreds then many of the supplies can be purchased from a jobber or wholesaler. In many areas of the country there are specialty stores that deal in party goods of all kinds. The local store can be a good start. Check your yellow pages for "party stores". There is a lot to be said for actually seeing what you are buying, and being able to examine it close up. Not to mention you can buy what you need when you need it and there is no shipping costs. In many cases the stores can special order a particular pattern of plate or custom banners for you. If you do not find what you are looking for in the local stores then a good place to start would be dmoz They have lists of suppliers arranged in categories to make it easy to find what you need. It might make sense to rent some of the bit ticket items such as a large tent or a lot of tables and chairs. The party stores will be able to help you out with the rental items and if they do not have them they will surly know where to get them. such as a big tent or 20 folding tables and chairs. Again the local suppliers will be able to help you with these larger items. In many areas there are chain rental stores such as Taylor Rental where you can get everything from chairs and tables to popcorn and fog machines. Don't overlook other creative supply opportunities. You may be able to borrow tables and chairs if your church, club or lodge has them available. The trick is to plan ahead as much as you can.
